I've just come back to Tokyo from Darmstadt. Dear Trio Accanto, thank you so so so much for your great performance and for having given me such a great, wonderful, fascinating, exciting, and so surprising opportunity!! Darmstadt is still truly special to me. (It might be the same for everyone as well, I am not sure but...) I was so proud of their performance on my work "In Between" there.
For several years, I have been really trying to juggle both living in Tokyo and being active internationally... But I've always felt like I am an outsider or a minority of the situation of new music. (Though I've known it's also my strong point at the same time.) I have no strong connection to Europe. I have no experiences of studying at any universities in Europe in the long term except having participated and studied in some festivals, programs, and academies. My English is still very broken though I am really trying to study every day and it might be improving little by little... So, I had never imagined that the day when my work would be performed officially in Darmstadt could come!! What would my younger self from 4 years ago (I came to Darmstadt as a participant then!) say if she knew her future work could be performed at Orangerie 4 years later?
Once again thank you very much to Trio Accanto for having given me the great chance where I was able to share a part of my work or how my work is going on recently to the people who have taken care of me so much since before, also to new people, and to new friends. Thank you so much to everyone who I met there. It was so really lovely stay!! From also now on, I keep working just to make strong music!!
