先週の日曜日、今度の神奈川音楽堂公演でもスパイラル公演でも、そしてお稽古や法要でもたくさんお世話になっているお坊さまがたが出仕されている、富山県は立山の布橋灌頂会に女人衆として参加させていただきました。

I attended the 'Nunobashi Kanjyo-e' at Mount Tateyama in Toyama prefecture. Nunobashi Kanjyo-e is the Buddhist ceremony like this.

Nunobashi, sacred bridge of Mount Tateyama, which means "cloth on the bridge".

Actually I also attended when the same ceremony was held at Canal Saint-Martin in Paris in 2015. So I had already known what would happen in the ceremony, but the "real" Nunobashi Kanjyo-e was a little harder than I thought...! Well, it was an absolutely beautiful experience for me and I was really lucky that I got such a great chance to take a look of myself again, surrounded by amazing green landscape.

実は、2年前にパリのサンマルタン運河のアメリ橋で布橋灌頂会が再現され、私はちょうどその時に新曲の初演でミラノにいたため、パリに駆けつけ、唯一の日本人の女人衆として参加しました。ですので、何が起こるのかすべてわかっていたつもりだったのですが、今回の本場での法会は、とても暑かったこともあり、想像していた以上に過酷で、まさに修行でした。目隠しをしてお堂に座りながら、視界を遮られた状態で少しずつ橋を渡りながら、色々なことを思い出したり、考えたり... そのうちに、ただつらくて何も考えられなくなり... あれが無心の状態なのでしょうか。改めて自分の内面を見つめる貴重な機会だったと思います。そして、やはり立山の眺めは素晴らしくて、阿弥陀如来に見立てた立山連峰に祈ってこその布橋灌頂会だと実感しました。
